The Real People's Talent

Newham is apart of a spectrum of up coming new inspirational talent. Having written about the terrific places in Newham, I feel obliged to also mention the residents, the people who make Newham what it is. Newham has proved that you do not need to be a person of authority, great background or even wealth to become someone great. These youngsters have proved that just by being gifted, determined and proud of their East London heritage.
The Young Mayor of Newham, Joshua Adejokun, is accountable to young people in Newham. He meets regularly with the Mayor and Councillors, making sure the views and opinions of the younger members of the community are heard.
Watch him being elected here

Next I'd like to mention an extremley talented young man, Diân Gasper. Studying Contemporary Music, at Brunel University, Uxbridge, he is a young paid musician in his field of work. He performs at various venues, from The Royal Festival Hall, to places closer to home, Stratford Circus. He was born in Plaistow and bred in Beckton.
Here he plays the piano in his own unique way.

Last but not least, I'd like to write about a professional footballer who was born in the midst of Newham, Jermaine Defoe. Also born in Beckton, the 26 year old plays for Tottenham Hotspur and is living proof that there is hope for the rest of Newham, the youngsters who are determined to become something.
Watch him in action!!
